Barra de Cunhaú
(South Coast)
In the city of Canguaretama, 75 km far from Natal, is located one of the most beautiful beaches of the south coast of Rio Grande do Norte.
Fishing village, with its landscape consisting of salt marshes, coves and beaches of opened sea, Barra de Cunhaú is endowed with a wild and calm beauty. Its waters have a darker, kind of greener half tone, and the coves of warm waters have the ideal temperature for a cooling bath (the temperature of the sea keeps around 26°C the whole year).
The sea is bathed by the Curimataú River, which asks for a boat stroll, with scenes of fens and a rich biodiversity.
Has a small, but efficient, structure of restaurants and inns (detached for
Solimar and
Punto Massimo, excellent restaurants).
Barra de Cunhaú adds to its landscape a vast area of shrimp creation in captivity, being one of the main contributors for the State leadership in shrimp exportation.
